Well, we’ve arrived in Costa Rica, flying TACA from Toronto, a plane change at San Salvador before continuing on to San Jose. I must say I’m impressed with TACA (www.taca.com) – they serve Latin America with several feeder lines from Canada and the US (smart). The planes are modern, they feed you, drinks are free, and on the Toronto-San Salvador stretch the plane had the latest in personalized video and gaming entertainment built into the seat in front of you. Cool.
After picking our Bego SUV at Thrifty’s, because it was now almost three in the afternoon, we opted to break our trip to Villa Mariposa into two pieces and headed towards the coast for Hermosa, which is just a bit south of Jaco:
So we stayed at the Surf Inn Hermosa – nice big room with A/C, television and WIFI, and Hermosa Beach is right at the end of the property, so we got an ocean fix even before reaching Villa Mariposa. Here’s a few pics:
