This wonderful day trip for the whole family takes you on horseback to the Magnificent Nauyaca Falls. The tour starts at 8:00 AM, and for 45 minutes takes you riding through the lush jungle to Don Lulo’s home for a delicious and typical Costa Rican breakfast. You can get up close for great photo ops with the tame toucans and macaws. You will continue the ride for half an hour to the Nauyaca Falls, where you can go swimming in the natural pools or jump from the falls. After exploring and enjoying the falls you will return to Don Lulo’s home, for a wonderful lunch. This six-hour tour costs $70 per person – a real deal!

Hacienda Baru – Zipline Tour
Hacienda Baru is a privately owned national wildlife refuge offering three tours. The Flight of the Toucan is a zipline canopy tour consisting of 8 ziplines that carry you like a toucan from tree to tree across canopy and canyon floors. There is lots of wildlife to see from the air and on the ground. This is a great tour for all ages.
Other tours include the Canopy Observation Platform which is over 100ft high in a magnificent tree and the Tree Climbing tour for the more adventurous.
Visit the free Butterfly Garden with a good sampling of the over 550 species of Butterflies in Costa Rica.

Osa Canopy Tour – Zipline Tour
A new zip-line canopy tour has opened only about 25 minutes south from the villa.
Guests highly recommend Osa Canopy Tour and say Chris and Stephanie who run it are fantastic.
For the truly adventurous, along with the zip-lines there is an amazing “tarzan” swing.
They also offer a separate Waterfall Repelling Tour with 3 waterfalls, with one over 250 feet high.
Cano Island – Snorkeling and Scuba Diving
The Caño Island National Reserve is an hour boat ride away and offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in Costa Rica with five platforms of low coral reefs surrounding the island.
Skin Diver magazine has rated this site as among the best in the world and one of the newest hot spots for adventure diving. Divers can see coral reefs, and an abundance of marine life including stingrays, sharks, dolphins, sea turtles. Tours are full day.
Marino Ballena National Park is named after the Humpback Whales that migrate here each year to mate and return to give birth and care for their “calves.” The northern hemisphere humpbacks are found here from December to April and the southern hemisphere humpbacks are here from August to October.
The famous marine park covers the coastal area from Uvita ( The Whales Tale) Playa Ballena south to Playa Pinuelas, these white and golden sand beaches are a great place to see whales and dolphins frolicking. Green marine iguanas can also be seen basking in the sun and diving to feed on algae.
